Resume Writing

The following is a synopsis of the Resume Writing skillset material:
Resume writing is generally considered to be the most important skillset during your job hunt.
Here’s a list of skills you will learn from developing this Resume Writing skillset:
- The best format and content for your resume
- Something of your character and work ethics
- Accomplishments and results as opposed to responsibilities and tasks
- Function rather than chronology in your work history.
I’ve mentioned this before and will refer to adding elements of your character throughout my discussion. It’s the most important element you can add to your resume — even more important than your work history. It’s the element that demonstrates something seldom written in the job requirements or job ad. I describe this element as your Three Key Strengths. The three key strengths are your ability to see and understand the big picture, your ability to create effective working relationships, and your work ethics.
Listing your entire work history and a full complement of your skillsets, competencies, and achievements is also essential, even though they may be out of date, or you have no interest in applying them at this time. This demonstrates the range of your competency and experience.
